| Life in interior Alaska planted the seeds of Trixer Designs many years ago. Born and raised in Fairbanks, Christie traded her sled and fun with scrap wood in the yard for indoor activities such as sewing, knitting, embroidery, hot chocolate sipping, and card playing whenever the temperatures dipped below –25 degrees. Taught by Momma Jo and inspired by friends with similar interests, she never went long without a project. And because many a day in the course of a long Fairbanks winter never warmed up above –25, she got lots of craft practice. After many years of college and a BS and MS in geology tucked in her belt, Christie again began to focus on handcrafts to pass the time while searching for jobs. After passing out purses to friends and family, she ultimately took their advice and began making bags to sell. She is now excited about her introduction to e-commerce, the local craft markets, and the growing opportunities to incorporate organic fabrics into existing designs. |
